I use Firefox and Microsoft edge and both of them are laggy. My internet is fine and page loading is fine but everything is slow and laggy. I can’t watch videos using 720p60 and higher because of this.
I tried turning hardware acceleration off and on, but it seems to make no difference.
Specs:
- Intel i5 650
- Intel HD graphics card
- HDD with 1 terabyte disk space
- 8GB RAM

Let's say I have a directory at which there are all sorts of video and image files. There are MP4, AVI, MOV etc. files and there are PNG, JPG, GIF etc. files all mixed together. My web browsers can't open ~/Desktop/htdocs/index.html
(located on the desktop).
I tried right clicking on .html that is outside the htdocs folder (I usually successfully use 'Open with' in my old system.) But this is a new system and one of the browsers in this new system worked well two days ago.

I installed the firefox developer edition with umake, added a .desktop file and can start the browser now via clicking the icon on my application menu.
But how do I tell the system (Ubuntu 20.04) that this a browser and it can be used?

I'm trying to access the website www.spea.pt (Portuguese Society for the Study of Birds). When I access the website from Arch Linux (or from my android phone) everything works. However when doing so using Ubuntu (18.04, 20.04, Kubuntu 21.10, or even my Ubuntu touch phone) I always get this error:

I have websites such as Notion, Outlook, and Onedrive installed as Apps through the edge browser. I wanted to know if they can be launched using a command in the terminal.
I've used the following command to get the window class string

Firefox browser caused system freezes, so I uninstalled it, hoping I could install Firefox without failures again. But now I’m running Unbuntu, but without any browser. I can’t find a way to install another one. How can I reinstall a browser?

My default browser is Firefox, but when I click on a link "visit homepage" inside synaptic it opens the link in Chrome instead.
How do I make it open links in the default browser instead?
When opening a single instance of Firefox, I get a "window within a window" (see screenshot below). Both sets of minimize/maximize/close buttons perform the same for the double windowed browser. Both browsers are fully functional otherwise.

This mean: All the necessary files are stored in one folder and/or subfolders, so that I can move the folder whereever I want and run it from this location without losing the browser cache, settings and so on ..
