I am using ubuntu server 20 LTS for an IoT application. I have a few custom kernel modules that I have installed and work fine, however whenever ubuntu does updates on boot they are wiped as if they never existed.
One option would be to disable automatic updates. However I am not sure how robust that disablement method is and whether it will be eventually be insufficient for a certain type of unk ...
Some time ago I plugged a second Graphic Card to try passthrough to a VM.
I forgot it inside my system because I never finished my tests and recently I try to remove it but the system didn't start any more.
I found several articles about that issue but with different folder structures and solution that could damage my system. I can not afford to let something like that to happen right now.

I have recently received my new computer, a Lenovo Thinkpad P14s notebook. According to the datasheet, it comes with a Realtek RTL8852AE (WiFi-6, 802.11ax, 2x2 Dual Band) WiFi adapter and a standard RJ45 ethernet port.
After installing Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, however, no WiFi was available at all. I did some research in the web and found suggestions to install Ubuntu 21.04 instead. However, this did no ...
I'm a complete newbie in the world of Linux.
It was yesterday I tried to dual boot Ubuntu 20.04 alongside my Windows 10, where the installation was smooth and I was able to switch between Windows and Ubuntu quite easily.
But then I ran into a problem. As you can see below, I have no option of WiFi available, so I tried looking into settings, to find the option of Wireless connections.
But again, I run in ...

A strange problem. Wifi only seems to work, when I boot Ubuntu with the ethernet cable plugged in. When the cable is not plugged in, Ubuntu behaves like there is no physical Wifi card/module.
This boot-with-ethernet-cable procedure doesn't work, when the cable isn't connected to a router/network on the other end.
After booting, the ethernet cable can be unplugged and Wifi continues to work just fine ...

This is a wireless device that until about a week ago, worked quite well. I installed an rmm monitor for Italian, and something in that script appears to have killed my wireless.
