I just installed gimp and was having fun with it. I wanted to add new fonts.
I opened GIMP and went to preferences and files then fonts and at last I clicked the fonts folder and tried to open file location. All it gave me was this error:
Can someone please help me by telling me how to solve this problem?
Thanks, this is very much appreciated.
I use Ubuntu Studio 20.04.03 LTS.
I found an issue when I changed from the Snap version of GIMP (2.10.28) to the "official" PPA version of GIMP (2.10.18).
The issue is about the graphic library called: "libgegl"
The "Focal" version of that library is the numbered as: "0.4.22-3"
That is the only one library version which let us to use the GIMP 2.10.18 PPA version.

I have a Brother HL-L2340D printer that is working fine with GIMP, Xed etc. It will not print the scanned document in either .pdf or .png format. I have checked Permissions and the sole User has Read/Write including group. The Owner is the sole User.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I did see another GIMP question on this forum, so here we go:
I have an image of a hand-written note written in blue ink on lined paper. The lines are black. What I'd like to do is to make everything except for the writing transparent. So the end result should be a transparent png with just the blue writing on it. Is this doable in GIMP? I mean be ...

How can I remove a plug-in from GIMP, keeping all other plug-ins intact? I use Ubuntu 20.04 and GIMP 2.10.18.

I installed KDE Plasma 5.18.5 on standard Ubuntu 20.04, and I'm enjoying it. However, something is badly wrong with the colors of Gimp (I've always used Gimp's Dark theme). Maybe I also have some KDE theme setting that's causing this?
The tool menu is badly colored:
But these menus are completely unusable - I can't see the values:
I'm currently learning how to use GIMP for image editing and thought I'd try reading the user manual. So I clicked on Help --> User Manual --> Basic Concepts and this message popped up:
Could not open 'https://docs.gimp.org/2.10/en/gimp-help.xml' for reading: An AppArmor policy prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient;
It seems almost everything in GIMP is colorless, even the tools on the top left corner:
Is it possible to make them colorful like in Windows or Mac?

The 'Crop to selection' option in the 'Image' menu of GIMP 2.10 is greyed out. How to solve it? The operating system is Ubuntu 20.04.
I'm on stock Ubuntu 20.04.2, and I have managed to install the latest / current Gimp with Flatpak: it was the 2.10.24 version at the time.
However, there are a few issues with the 2.10 line that I can't seem to be able to resolve.
For this reason, I would like to install Gimp 2.8.
I know that that older Gimp version may rely on an older Python version as well, so installing the whole thing with Flatpak ...
