I'm having trouble with a second screen on my laptop.
So I found a TV screen somewhere (Samsung) and tried plugging it into my laptop, it does work (as in I get an image) the only problem is that it is zoomed in to far. I'd guess that 5-10% of the screen gets cut off (at the top, bottom, right and left). I had seen some advice on similar posts about xrandr
but am unable to fix it, does anyone have advic ...

I am trying to connect my Lenovo, Thinkpad laptop with my DELL external screen via HDMI. Either the external screen blinks and shows the colors in very bad quality or it doesn't connect all with "No HDMI signal from your device" message. Laptop runs Ubuntu 21.04.

I am trying to boot a Ubuntu Desktop 20.04.3 LTS image on my Xilinx ZCU104 platform. While I am able to login using the serial port, I am unable to view the GUI on my monitor. I see some boot commands and then the screen goes black. I have a few questions -

I had a black screen problem while booting my ubuntu and I got help of this link and deleted some files in recovery mode as root and I could solve my problem. However I still have black screen problem when activate my computer after sleep. also,the HDMI port doesn't work anymore. I searched and found no solution to solve my problem. Any idea?

EDIT: I realized that every time the audio would be crackling also computer performance overall would be worse, reason was broken GPU.

Note: This problem occurs because Pulsaudio ignores the settings set by user in the settings-sound menu.

Recently I bought an adapter to connect my USB devices and HDMI via USB-C to my laptop (with Thunderbolt). In Windows, HDMI works correctly and I can use the display normally via the adapter, but in Ubuntu I cannot make another display appear when connected via this adapter.
Is there any solution to this? I should say that if I connected the display via HDMI from the laptop then it works normally ...

I have an intel nuc that has a USB-C port and and an HDMI Port. When i switch from USB-C to HDMI I get a black screen on my My HP LCD monitor. I bought new monitor to my home (iiyama GB3466WQSU) for my laptop HP Probook 455R G6. Currently I tried connecting it via hdmi and I cant use 3440x1440, its not appears on display settings. I read that this monitor model hdmi supports up to 3440x1440 100hz.

I have a ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C with USB-A Dock connected to a ThinkPad T14 laptop with Ubuntu 20.04 and a DELL external monitor. So I used the regular raspberry-pi-imager tool for windows and flashed the "Ubuntu Desktop 21.10 (RPi 4/400)" on my brand new raspberry pi 4 8GB ram model.

I have the following setup: PC (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS with Nvidia GeForce 1050Ti, Nvidia X server installed) connected over HDMI to Samsung Q85 TV, which is connected over HDMI ARCH, to a 5.2 (Dolby Atmos Onkyo system).

I am trying to set up an external monitor to my laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen2). The monitor doesn't have an HDMI port, so I am using an HDMI/Display port adapter, but Ubuntu doesn't seem to detect the monitor. When I use the HDMI cable without the adapter (i.e. with my TV) it works perfectly.

Ubuntu20.04 does not detect second monitor, the monitor says "no signal detected", everytime it falls asleep. When I turned off the power of monitor, and unplugged the HDMI cable, the Ubuntu does not change the display mode. It is extended mode and my second monitor is the primary display.
