I have an Ubuntu on ryzen APU system.

Here is the problem: I start my desktop pc and see my monitor is blinking, I tried the monitor on another pc and see the monitor has a problem.

Then I use another monitor for my pc which I know it's working. But when I start the pc, it only shows me the motherboard logo and then black screen. When I expect to see ubuntu login screen.

What could be the issue? I know ...

Codeblocks is taking a lot portion of my screen.I want it to take less screen (preferably upto the red rectangular size i have drawn).Is there any way I can do it ?

I can resize the height, but that's not what I want. It seems I cannot change the width though.

My settings are

Dim screen when inactive: On

and

Blank screen: 12 minutes

but the screen never dims or blanks.

Is there a way to get the screen to go blank after a time of inactivity?

I have a Asus Laptop that came with Win10 pre-installed, after using it for about a year and a half, its screen started to occasionally flicker (it started doing that for the first time after continuous usage (google meet) of about 4 hours and now it starts doing it anywhere around the 30 mins to 2 hr mark).

I installed 20.04 on an HP laptop with Intel iris(xe) graphics adapter, dual-booting with Windows. The screen starting flickering after an update. Just installed Ubuntu 20.04 on a Lenovo Yoga 12, on screen keyboard is working on Ubuntu environment but not working inside any other application like web browser or libre office, intro key isn't working and delete key isn't working either.

I have a classic problem of "Black Screen" when Ubuntu starts and I'm not able to fix it.

The problem:

• Without the "nomodeset" option in GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT, I have a blackscreen on the main monitor of my laptop, but HDMI monitor works.
• With the "nomodeset" option in GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT, I have a blackscreen on the HDMI monitor, but main monitor of my laptop works.

Using "nomodeset"  ...

As instructed in another reply to this problem. After changing the grub listing to nomodeset, and keying ctrl x, the computer returns

I installed ubuntu on my secondary laptop. I have 19" screen LG W40series connected via VGA. Maximum resolution is 1024x768 At the other distro's it worked fine with full hd resolution.. Please help - ubuntu 20.04

I have an issue where my screen randomly goes black and sometimes logs me out of my session. It sometimes happens every few minutes and multiple times in a row, or sometimes doesn't happen for a few hours.

Whenever I open/launch new apps , the existing app moves to one side of screen , kind of like splits the screen space by half automatically (in the same monitor and same workspace) . I want the newly opened app to be in the foreground, instead of be in a split screen.

I don't know if this a feature i enabled unknowingly. I have gnome tweaks installed , but i don't see any split screen option in g ...

Screen is weirdly stretched

Since about one week my Ultrawide screen is not working properly with my Ubuntu Laptop.If I open a window on the sreen it gets stretched to the right. The Image should provide more information.

I have Ubuntu Server 20.04.3 LTS and i'm having this odd issue

When i start up the computer while my display is plugged in, it works as it should be, but when i disconnect the screen, it wont output a signal again

I am using only 1 display and nothing else, the OS is running as it should be because SSH works fine.

I suspect it could be that its not re-detecting the display, but i don't know how to conf ...

My laptop's built in display is broken, and I don't have another monitor. I want to use my android phone as a monitor, using either usb cable or local wifi network (It should work offline, using hotspot without any data connection)

Is there any way to do that?

With Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS, a few hours ago I had an update of the system,. Since then my dual monitor has lost any setup. The system does not even see or recognize the monitors and it displays the same screen for both monitors.

I installed ubuntu 21.04 on my Lenovo Miix 320 (a tablet notebook hybrid). While running Ubuntu from the USB Stick in the installation mode the Screen turned automatically but after installing it it does not.
