I am on Ubuntu 21.10
My goal is to set my speakers as default audio device, as now it is by default my headset, even when it is not connected. Then, I have to manually navigate to the GUI sound options in Ubuntu, and select the speakers (which do work).
When I use the following command:
pacmd list-sources
It outputs that ' 3 sources available', which does not include my speakers.
Then I can select a ...

I have an Infinity Glide 510 bluetooth headphones, and when I try and connect it does not even get detected in Ubuntu 20.04. I have tried everything, like putting the headphones into pairing mode, restarting the system and even reinstalling the bluez package. Recently I had connected Second Gen Airpods, and they worked fine. But my Infinty glides aren't even being discovered by ubuntu.

So after having an Ubuntu 20.04 fresh install into the ASUS Transformer T100HA, I've faced a no-sound issue. The system recognized the following outputs:
- Multichannel
- Internal audio
But no sound with any output
I'm using the same setup with Windows, and there it works perfectly fine, but on ubuntu it doesn't work. Sound from the headset is there, but microphone does not take any sound. Also in Microsoft Teams it seems it is confused to the point, that it thinks that output is input, and threats output as microphone. Please, if you can, help me with that.

Is it OK that they both have the same drive? Could this be the reason?

Ever since I upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS, I've had to run sudo alsa force-reload
after rebooting or else I'll have no sound. However, after a recent system update, even this stopped working. Now when I run the command, I get the following output, and then the command hangs:

I installed the latest Ubuntu on a 2017 Imac. Not a virtual machine - Ubuntu is the only operating system. Since install there has been no sound. I have installed pulse audio and again when sound is played through rhythmbox sound is detecte ...

I'm having this problem with my Bluetooth headphones, a Tronsmart Apollo Q10 to be exact.
Basically I'm trying to connect to these headphones in Kubuntu (the latest version as of today), they appear on the pc, and I'm even able to click the connect button. When I do so, it also shows as 'connected' on my devices list, but there is no option to use it as output for audio.

I have a bunch of NUC10s I am using for a project (both i3 and i5s) onto which I have installed Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. These NUC models have no audio jack and rely on HDMI for sound. But I have no sound. I performed the same install on NUC7s and had sound over HDMI without incident.

I haven't run Studio Controls for a while since I haven't been recording and Pulse works fine for basic operations. But I'd like it if Studio Controls would open when I do decide to record. When I try and launch through terminal, I get this:

Weird issue recently popped up, every time I start up my laptop the playback devices are missing from the list of sound devices and presumably don't work (haven't gotten the chance to test it yet). I can get them to show up after I plug something into the headphone jack, but I want a fix, not a workaround. I can't think of anything that's causing this, since it sort of just started happening.

The issue
My audio cutting out intermittently for ~1s every couple of seconds.
My connection is from laptop -> Monitor HDMI -> earphones. I don't have the skipping issue if I'm connect laptop -> earphone directly.
The skipping can be triggered if I open a browser tab/ load a webpage/click on something/typing etc.

I've a big problem. The sound of my pc has a lot of problems.
My laptop detects headphones all the time even when there is nothing plugged in. Also doesn't make any sound when I tried to use '''pulseaudio --kill & pulseaudio --start''' did not fix the problem. I need to use multiple times pulseaudio --kill like it was more than a pulseaudio.

How would one set different samplerate for each audio controller on a system using PulseAudio ?
Default configuration file seems to have nothing for audio controller specific configuration and seems to be general. udev rules 60-persistent-alsa.rules, 78-sound-card.rules and 90-alsa-restore.rules does not seem to set a samplerate or call pulseaudio explicitly.
So I have an issue where the Alert volume keeps going to 0 whenever I reboot. I prefer to have the sounds on, but they won't stay on when I leave Ubuntu (this happens on all Desktop Environments). Is there a way to force this to stay at full volume every time? The normal sound isn't effected, it's just the Alert sounds.

I'm running Kubuntu 21.10 and I have a USB CD drive. I want to play an audio CD on that drive. I know it's pretty simple to do, but I can't quite get it all together. How can I do it?

I found a lot of questions about how to switch between HDMI and headphone outputs. Instead, on my Ubuntu 20.04 I need to output the audio on both of them.
Under Settings

> Output Device
I can select one output only per time.
Is there a way to route the audio on both HDMI and analog output?
EDIT:
Following this approach, I enabled the simultaneous output on paprefs
and installed pavucontro ...
