Laptop install of Ubuntu 20.04. It's a dell inspiron 5402 (non touch screen laptop). After it suspends the keyboard and trackpad stop working. I looked into it some and found several fixes.
The problem originally was both of them stop working after suspending or locking. I tried adding i805.reset
to the grub command. That caused it to work for about 5 seconds after locking.
I then tried replacing ...

So I've bought a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 and installed Ubuntu 21.04 on it. While a Mouse works just fine, the Touchpad does not. I've tried numerous methods I've found on YouTube and different forums. I edited a lot of things in grub and updated it, rebooted the laptop and also tried the kernel method but unfortunately nothing works. I don't know if I should reinstall Ubuntu, try an older version or try ...
So for the last day or two, DiskUsage keeps complaining about no disk space on my root /
partition.
I can mitigate this issue by editing the /etc/systemd/journald.conf
and setting the SystemMaxUse=200M
and then restarting the journald
by running sudo service systemd-journald restart
.
However, I'd like to get to the root issue of this because the following line is continually dumped into my logs for some ...
I'm taking a look at this laptop for a friend. She installed Ubuntu 21.04 over the Windows installation and everything seems to be working with one exception. The mouse, whether touchpad or external, doesn't move the pointer. It stays stuck in the lower left corner.

I have just dual-booted windows 10 with Ubuntu 20.04 and I am facing a problem with scrolling on any page in Ubuntu.
Whenever I scroll down a page with the touch-pad contents get skipped or move very fast.
I have tried many things to overcome this problem like changing some settings in synaptic.
For eg: slowing down the speed of scrolling with "Synaptics Scrolling Distance " but not hopefully succeeded ...

When I scroll vertically, it scrolls horizontally in parallel. It is impossible to slide two fingers down in the table, so that there is no horizontal scrolling. This was not the case before. I want to make sure that when I scroll down in the table, the screen does not move a little to the right / left. That is, I want both horizontal and vertical scrolling to be available, but when calling one, the sec ...
I want to disable the touchpad while typing. There is an option to do this in the xfce touchpad settings but this doesn't enable it on the login screen (lightdm greeter) though it works fine after login. I have looked through the lightdm gtk greeter settings but there's no option for this. It's very annoying to have to input a long password multiple times because the cursor jumps around due to my hand t ...
I have an HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0xxx with Ubuntu 20.04, and its ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad is not working
The touchpad shows up in xinput list, and so does my USB optical mouse, the ID of my mouse (9) is lower than that of the touchpad (12). I think this means that my mouse is registered before the touchpad.
Touchpad also shows up in /cat/proc/input/devices.
I have tried the following solutions -an ...

recently I have been facing with issues for Nvidia drivers and eventually I decided to clean install Ubuntu 21.04. which indeed solved the issue. However, now my touchpad is not working at all. I have a Dell Inspiron 14 5000 series laptop where I have installed Ubuntu 18.04. However, the two finger scrolling is not working.
Also, I have seen from some posts that there should be separate settings for mouse and touch pad. But as per the image, I only have settings for mouse and no touchpad.
Any solutions/suggestions to this would be appreciated.
I am using Ubuntu via hyper-v.. two finger scroll via touchpad is too sensitive (ie) it is too fast for page scroll. I am also not getting touchpad options in settings.

I have installed Ubuntu 21.04 on my Razer Blade Pro 17 (2021). Everything, including the touchscreen and the keyboard, works fine. However, the touchpad, including button presses, doesn't work.
How can I make the touchpad work on my laptop?

Moving my finger 3 cm over the touchpad moves the cursor across approximately half the screen, regardless how quickly/slowly I do it.
That means I either can't easily hit a click target (current settings) or can't quickly move across the screen. Normally, I'm used to touchpads moving "faster" on fast movements (i.e. moving your finger quickly by 3 cm moves the cursor across the entire screen, mov ...
I'm currently on Ubuntu 21.04, the touchpad does not work at all. The red pointer works for moving the mouse and the buttons above the touchpad works, but the actual touchpad does not.
I've tried installing xserver-xorg-input-synaptics but that did not resolve the issue. I'm unable to find anyone with a similar issue or any linux touchpad drivers online.

I have recently installed Ubuntu 20.04 on my Dell Precision 5530 laptop. It has a Intel® Xeon(R) E-2176M CPU, 32GB of RAM, a 256GB NVME SSD.
The problem I'm having is that often, and it seems to be about 50% of the time, a mouse click doesn't register and then I have to click again. Sometimes I have to click a 3rd time. In a few instances it seems like those missed clicks get "caught up" and ...

Sometimes I have the problem, that when I tap on a folder from my favourites list in nautilus on the left with my touchpad, additionally to opening that folder the mouse also grabs the folder to move it up or down. I have to place it where it was to get the mouse free again.

It has a MSFT0001:00 06CB:7F28

My device's touchpad/trackpad has been acting weird lately. I am not able to "click" to click. But I rather have to "tap" to click. I can do click-drag (double-tap-drag works as though click-drag). I can also do right-click by just doing a two finger tap, but I can't right-click-drag, which I really need for my workflow. I wonder how I can make fn (or any other key) + click-drag behave like right-click- ...

The USB Live Ubuntu 21.04 will load to the installation screen, but the monitor is stuck at 1024x768 (the default) with no other options, and the keyboard is completely unusable as well as the touchpad. Nothing works that I can access. Previous editions of Ubuntu (19.10 and early 20.10) will work just fine, so there seems to be a problem with this build (as well as other flavors based on this build) not ...
