I made the grave mistake of running the command sudo apt-get install -y games-minesweeper
thinking it would only install one game. It ended up installing like 30 or so games:
The problem is i can't uninstall these packages since they don't show up in the Ubuntu software app, and running:
sudo apt-get remove games-minesweeper
only returns:
Package 'games-minesweeper' is not installed, so not removed
I have been asked by my professor to do so. But I have heard during uninstallation of the Ubuntu we may face problems .Is it?

I have Ubuntu 20.04 installed. I got these KDE icons after installing "Latte Dock" on Ubuntu. But after removing Latte Dock:, I still have these KDE icons. I have also tried
sudo apt remove kde-full
, sudo apt autoremove
and sudo apt remove –purge kubuntu-desktop kde-standard language-pack-kde-en
but nothing is happening for these KDE icons to be removed.

I recently bought a Thinkpad carbon X1 gen9 with Ubuntu preinstalled. The preinstalled Ubuntu have some problems (see this forum) and I was thinking of trying Debian.

I installed ubuntu using a flash drive alongside windows. Most guides state that I have to delete the partition that was dedicated to the ubuntu install however when I look through Disk manager in windows, I do not see any new allocated space.
I want to uninstall Hexchat and remove it completely so i can install it again, because it's broken. And any ”purge remove or autoremove” does not uninstall it. Some ”config files” are not deleted. I have no much experience with Ubuntu I have installed .bin file but Now I'm not able to uninstall it I have tried some commands like :

I had a problem with the MS Teams app and tried to update my version via the package manager. This however led to an additional installation of MS Teams. I wanted to uninstall both applications now to clear my system.
Using sudo apt remove teams
I was able to uninstall one of the installations. The other one is still being shown when I view the application screen, and I don't know how to remove it.

I installed ProtonVPN from the proton site. I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the remaining pieces of the software. I've done the usual things:
- Checked the ubuntu Store (not there)
- Purged protonvpn (can't find)
- apt remove protonvpn (can't find)

I installed clipit by following the instructions on this page for Ubuntu (https://github.com/CristianHenzel/ClipIt#on-ubuntu) so I used the command sudo apt-get install build-essential git automake xdotool autoconf intltool autopoint gtk+-3.0

I built a program from source then went to pull the code and build again to get a more recent version but my pull wasn't working so I deleted the directory before uninstalling the app (dumb) and now whenever I try to build the app again or try to install via apt it doesn't overwrite the old version. The version I am using is 0.1.12 and the current release is 0.4.0. Am I just screwed here?
I'm working on a desktop application and recently when I uninstalled it to install a newer version the local folder of the application got deleted.

I have built a lib, Open3D, from source and installed it. Afterwards, i ran make uninstall for the library and deleted the entire file directory which i cloned from git, i still have existing files from Open3D from /usr/local/lib directory.
