Just loaded up Ubuntu 20.04 on this laptop. Everything's working perfectly, except for brightness control.
I've been following all the advice I can over at this thread: Legion 5 pro brightness control doesn't work on ubuntu 20.04 with nvidia driver 460
...but, nothing works for me. I haven't been able to find a single mention of a solution for the specific model I have anywhere on the internet. Again ...
after couple of months I wanted to play a game of CSGO on my laptop dual booting windows and linux. I haven't been using Win10 ever since I've switched to linux in January and I used to play CSGO on performance mode easily before. But now, maybe due to some driver update I can't see all options in nvidia x server settings like before. Bellow is the look of my nvidia x server window. Thanks in advance!
When I start an Xorg server with the following command:

I have a dual-boot machine with Windows8 and Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS.
It worked fine up until I pressed Yes (install) to some automatic updates from Ubuntu via the GUI pop-up window. These updates failed at around 70%. The problem is with nVidia drivers.
My motherboard is GT216 (GeForce GT 220).

I'm quite new to Linux/Ubuntu, and just tried installing it on my machine.
After installing it, I could only see a purple screen, so I updated GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT
with nomodeset
in order to get some access to the UI. This allowed me to see the desktop, and log in, however in display settings, I can only see 'unknown display' and cannot change the resolution.
I then tried reinstalling xserve ...
I am using Ubuntu 20.04. Once in a fortnight or so, the system hangs, and the system fan goes to full speed at the same time. After that, no keyboard or mouse input works, not even Ctrl+Alt+F3 to switch to a command line console. So there is no way for me to monitor if any background process is malfunctioning. The only choice I have is to use the power button to reboot.
Last time this event repeated, I ...
I am running Ubuntu Studio 20.04.3 LTS with xfce, a fresh install since yesterday, and on every startup I get a "system program error detected" notification. There is one file in /var/crash named _usr_lib_xorg_Xorg.0.crash but when i try to open or remove this file i get a 'permission denied' message, as such:

I am working on a system supporting multiple displays connected to an Nvidia display card (using DP).

This questions pops up every now and then and there are numerous answers, all of which may have been correct when they were written but somehow do not (always?) apply anymore.

I'm using Ubuntu 21.04, and I have installed 20.04 before. Both of them are unable to work correctly with my graphics driver. They only show up two low screen resolutions. I tried to add screen resolution. With Ubuntu 21.04 using WAYLAND, I switched back to Ubuntu with Xorg, and add new resolution: 1366x768. With Ubuntu 20.04, I did the same thing. But after adding new resolution, my screen is still blu ...

While using my computer normally, X will randomly freeze: No screen updates are performed and no input works but audio still plays normally if it was playing when the freeze occurred. It happens incredibly often and the only solution I've found is SysRQ-rebooting or physically pressing the power button to shut down. I'm running 20.04.3 with everything fully updated (apt upgrade does nothing).

Ubuntu 21.04, Xorg, gnome-shell 3.28.4.
I occasionally get a message that this-or-that Gnome shell extension should be updated. (Latest: Lock Keys). Trying to update the extension invariably leads to the ubiquitous red "ERROR" message on the extension list (and a defunct extension). The solution is always to restart X (Alt+F2, r), then everything works again (until the next update is signalled). ...

Having a monitor that supports 100% of Adobe RGB color space. Used it for a while with Xorg and NVIDIA GPU after I found out that effective color gamut used was sRGB.
