How do I convert custom entity's created timestamp to date format on save to database for filtering by date in a View
us flag

I am using Drupal 9 I have a custom entity which I am using to log some events. In my view, I wish to add a filter to retrieve entities created between two dates. My view displays the date as dd-mm-yyyy, which is what I need it to do. However, as the created date is a timestamp, my view returns each row, as each timestamp is different. My thinking is that I either need to coerce the the created date to  ...

It works on other things like pages and blocks, but not entity reference.

I have Views Entity Reference Filter and Better Exposed Filters already installed, but that didn ...

How do you add a filter with manage form display?
cn flag

So I know with form display, you add fields to the content type which then can be re-arranged under form display.

But what about more complicated features, like filtering via taxonomy terms? I know with Manage Display I can use a EVA view and do all kinds of cool stuff.

But with form display, It feels very limited to only the fields added. Is there a way to make form display also work like manage di ...

How do I add additional social media platforms to the social media block in this theme?
de flag

I have found the zymphonies.com theme: composer require 'drupal/drupal8_parallax_theme:^2.0 a useful addition to my toolkit.

It comes with a banner slideshow built in, is designed to be mobile-first responsive, and being built on top of the bootstrap framework has proven useful to helping me learn a small bit of how to use bootstrap to easily enhance the stock framework provided by the theme/framework.  ...

How do I merge forum threads?
gw flag

I'm looking for a way for merging Forum threads and moving comments posted to the wrong thread into the right one. I did a bunch of searching and finally found the Comment Mover module which appears to do what I need. However, it's only available for Drupal 7.

Is there any Drupal 9 module similar to the Comment Move module? Is there another solution for the problem of merging forum threads?

How to sort addresses by Street name in Table View?
cn flag

I have an address directory set up as a view on my D9 website. One of the columns has full addresses like this:

1 Main Street Columbus, OH 00000

I'd like to be able to allow sorting the column by the Street name in the address first and then possibly the number second. Like this:

  • 1 Alpha Rd
  • 2 Alpha Rd
  • 3 Alpha Rd
  • 1 Bravo St
  • 2 Bravo St

By default it sorts considering the first character it sees. So ...

Printing paragraphs of a specific type in node template

I use a template for a node type for the search api index. For this node type I have 4 paragraph types. For the search I only need 2 of these types to index.

My idea now was to print only these specific types of paragraphs in the field template of the paragraphs field.

How can I print single paragraph types in the template of the paragraphs field?

Or is there another way to include only the needed para ...

User with only "Edit own webform" permission cannot add elements to own webform
ph flag

I have created a "form admin" role with three permissions only: "Access the webform overview page", "Create webforms", "Edit own webform" (Drupal 9.3.7, Webform 6.1.3). The user can create a webform but when trying to add an element then the page goes into "reload loop" (see two screenshots). The issue disappears only if I add "Administer webforms" permission or enable "access webform configuration" for ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
