I recently upgraded from PHP 7.4 to PHP 8.0. It seemed to work just fine until I rebooted. It looks like my PHP service isn't loading.

logrotate on ubuntu 20.04.4 won't run *my config* in systemd
ar flag

I have a a few processes that output logs to /var/tmp/ and /tmp/. I am trying to get logrotate to work on them using a file I have put in /etc/logrotate.d/. One set of files is generated by rsyslog utility (where I capture the output and act on it on a separate script)

For the life of me , I can't figure out why logrotate in systemd never runs my config. Manual running always works with no errors. ...

Apache mod_authz_host with dynamic IPv& range
br flag

I am running an Apache 2.4 on Debian Bullseye on a LAN behind a DSL router with dynamic IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. My Webserver works as a TLS endpoint and serves a variety of pages. Some of these pages must be accessible to the wide internet, while other pages should be available on my local LAN only. Access from the internet works, but I'm struggling with getting the LAN-only pages to work. I have the f ...

I have nginx (1.21.6) running with openssl 1.1.1n on a Debian 11 server. Although I followed many tutorials and looked at multiple questions in this forum about this topic, I can't get TLS 1.3 working. The output of nginx -V:

Block users from accessing anything outside home folder and run any executables on Windows

BrX

I am facing a quite complex problem and I do not know how to approach it in the best way. In short I need to block access (browse, display, run etc.) to anything outside of the profile/home directory on Windows + block installation and execution of any programs or applications that are not currently installed on a system. Some kind of similar to removing X permission on Linux and read only. This should  ...

force mysqld to use etc hosts for reverse lookup
cn flag

I have a server hosted by hetzner running mysqld. I already setup some "ddns for poor ones" to add my dial-on IP (Telekom) to the server's /etc/hosts. Now all Users in mysql are limited to localhost, but my development machine at home must also connect. When doing so, the mysql deamon does a reverse lookup in DNS, but my (existing and correctly working!) local bind ofcause does not contain (cheated) rev ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
