Run cron job in UTC when my server is in a different timezone
cn flag

My server runs in the GMT timezone, which means it switches to British Summer Time in the summer.

I want a cron job to run in UTC as it accesses an external service that runs in that timezone.

i.e. In the winter, my job should run when the server time is 1am (GMT = UTC) and in the summer at 2am (GMT is ahead of UTC one hour).

I do not want to change the server to use UTC for its timezone, as other jobs ...

Your content folder in "/home/{????}/public_html/wp-content/uploads" is not writeable
ai flag

I am getting the same error on my both WordPress sites:

Your content folder in "/home/{my_user}/public_html/wp-content/uploads" is not writeable.

They both are hosting on a dedicated service using WHM.

I changed the permission on the ../uploads/ folder to 777 and it works but I don't think this is a valid exercise. The current setting on the folder is 775

Can you please give me some steps to diagnose this ...

ssh and sshfs connection through nginx reverse proxy problems

I have a small annoying problem with ssh and sshfs connection to a server that is behind an nginx reverse proxy.

I use sshfs remotely to mount some folders from the server and ssh to connect to it and both get disconnected when idle. I solved the ssh connection by adding the ServerAliveInterval and ServerAliveCountMax in .ssh/config but the problem remains with sshfs.

I have used sshfs in the past (w ...

How to get syn flags, ack flags, sequence number and acknowledgement number in tcp packets with nfqueue?
br flag

I am working on a project which can redirect the network traffic in tcp (packets sent by client to server1 will be redirected to server2) with netfilterqueue, so I need to classify the packets by their syn and ack flags, and I also needs to modify the sequence number and acknowledgement number in packets so that I can convince server2 to establish the connection with client. But I didn't find the metho ...

Some of the email invitations using our company's custom email are being marked as spam in Gmail. This is only happening for a couple of users, and seems to only be for invitations. Network Policy Server policies for different Active Directory Groups

I am trying to configure a Network Policy for our OpenVPN server to authenticate using our Radius servers. Our radius servers currently have a bunch of radius clients configured, we use them for switches/routers authentication (network group.) Anyway, I added the IP of our OpenVPN server to the radius clients and a network policy to allow VPN group users to connect and it works. However, looks like VPN  ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
