Can you create an mTLS connection while using an SSL Proxy?
il flag

I am using an SSL/TLS Proxy, meaning I have installed a CA on all my clients that allows me to break/decrypt their TLS connections. I’m trying to determine what would happen to an mTLS connection and if it would be possible for a client to establish a successful connection with mTLS while still allowing my proxy to mitm the traffic. Furthermore, can I edit the traffic or just intercept/decrypt it? I h ...

Postfix key rollover race condition?
br flag

the Postfix documentation on TLS advises against storing key and certificates in separate files because of possible race conditions during key rollover. It is rather complicated to follow this advice when using self-updating Let's Encrypt certificates, so how serious is the race condition issue?

In general, when does Postfix read new key/cert files without being reloaded or restarted?

Thanks, Jan

I need some help with matching inventory_hostname with item.host (from vars_file). What is the best way to do that? I couldn't figure out this as i am a newbie.

My requirement is:

  • I must call all hosts from inventory file.

  • I must match item.host from ansible_inventory, if it's exist then run a shell command on hosts which matches with all item.hosts then exit.

  • filelist.yml is a dynamic file which ...

Is it safe to include upstream Nginx in unattended-upgrades?
ru flag

My company has Nginx deployed from upstream's repositories. I would ideally like to include this repository in unattended-upgrades, but I'm concerned that this will break things at some point.

I understand that this carries the risk of bugs, which is a tradeoff I'm willing to make, but what's unclear to me is whether Nginx has any kind of configuration syntax/semantics backwards compatibility guarantee ...

CloudFront CORS request using signed cookies and withCredentials, not sending back Access-Control-Allow-Credentials unless I include some extra header
cn flag

I'm having a very strange issue that I can't seem to crack. I configured a private CloudFront distribution to serve content from a private S3 bucket. I am using signed cookies to grant access to the files. I am also making cross origin requests from a browser for the files, so I need to allow credentials to send the cookie. I configured a custom response headers policy to do this (I set it to set Acc ...

Not typical "To Sign in Remotely, You Need the Right to Sign in Through Remote Desktop Service" issue
br flag

I have the "To Sign in Remotely, You Need the Right to Sign in Through Remote Desktop Service" problem. But it is not that simple.

When I added a new user as a domain user, automatically the use became a member of the “Remote Desktop Users” group and also the "Allow log on through Remote Desktop Services" policy was set correctly.

The thing is, once I log in with whatever existing domain user,  ...

System Logs for Docker Container Running Inside AWS Fargate

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
