Difference between sigma protocol, Schnorr protocol, Pedersen commitment

jp flag

Could you explain the difference between sigma protocol, Schorr protocol with examples. What is the advantage of using commit-and-prove zero knowledge proof over general zero knowledge proof?

As I know, Schnorr protocol is an instance of $\Sigma$ protocol which is a kind of interactive proofs.

And the commitment scheme always owns hidding and binding properties, which could meet zero-knowledge and soundness requirements for zero knowledege proofs/arguments. Thus, when constructing a proof/argument system, we always take various commitment schemes into the system.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
