UUID / Format 8-4-4-16

What is the name of the UUID scheme that prints the UUID using 8-4-4-16 instead of the more common 8-4-4-4-12?

The only thing I can find, except from some confused developers is a proprietary ColdFusion OID scheme. Maybe they decided on that scheme before the one from Microsoft became standardized.

By the way, although the UUID may be based upon many data elements, the 16 bytes that the 32 characters represent are usually **not** encrypted. If the UUID would (partially) consist of ciphertext then we probably wouldn't be able to decrypt it as we don't have the key.

I’m voting to close this question because it doesn't involve cryptography.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
