How do we add Custom DHCP Server in IBM in a VPC Network which is connected to VPN

pl flag

We have a VPC Network which is connected to our classic Infrastructure using VPN. When we create a VM it uses the Cloud DNS Servers to resolve the request. It works for any other public resources like artifactory.com but fails for our internal resources like artifactory.abc.com.

So we need to use our DNS Servers.

Different Solutions could be :

  1. Update the netplan config using userdata
  2. Configure the image as such it has inbuilt DNS Servers
  3. Use private DNS Hosted Zone and create URLs for resources we want to access like artifactory.abc.com . But not feasible as there are multiple such URLs and some don't even have static IP.

We want to do it at network level instead of instance level or image. Like in AWS and OCI we have a way to do it but could not find out in IBM to do the same.

Examples of AWS and OCI : https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vpc/latest/userguide/VPC_DHCP_Options.html https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/Network/Tasks/managingDHCP.htm

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
