Totally and completely new to XenServer.
We have XenCenter 7.0 on a Windows machine that I am trying to import an .xva file to. The file is aout 8GB. When I import the xva it seems to chug along until about 2.5 hours into the import and errors with "The file could not be imported"
The log entry from %appdata%/Citrix/XenCenter/logs shows the below and nothing else for this transaction:
861 WARN Audit [47] - Operation failure: ImportVmAction: xenserver-ph: Pool <long character string here> (xenserver-ph): Host <long character string here> (xenserver-ph): Preparing to Import VM
should there be more logs for this import? That is can XenCenter be configured to provide a better failure reason
googling around I found that there may be a file size limit for xva files...but we are using all NTFS so should that not matter then?
I also read compression settings during the xva creation could be a problem. if that is the case can anything be done to repair this xva and make it usable?
Are the pool and host strings in the log secure info, or some transaction ID? I removed them just in case. no familiar with what they mean.
I am open to any and all suggestions, like I said totally new to Xen.
Adding to this, we have multiple monthly backups of this same VM .xva file....and it seems all of them are erroring the same way.
Edit #2: I just learned that the ZenCenter version was updated for the install of this new VM. so there may be some version compatibility stuff going on here I need to look into.
