Check Browser settings in Mac OS using .plist files

ve flag

I wanted to monitor browser settings (especially related to proxies, if any set). I did some research and found the system preference list files (.plist) files hold such data. When I checked on a OSX system, I found there are many .plist files.

  1. How to figure which of these hold browser related data, for all Browsers installed on my Mac OS ?

  2. Which directories other than ~/Library/Preferences to look for the .plist files ? I can see some preference files in ~/Library/Containers directory as well.

  3. Is looking in .plist files the best way to look for all browser configurations ? Or some other files need to be looked into ?

  4. What are the plist file names for

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
