Loading speed / TTFB difference between DNS change and domain transfer?

ng flag

I am a Web Developer and primarily create Websites with Gatsby.js or Next.js. Most of my Customers either already have a Website or have bought some kind of web hosting to secure their domain name. Unfortunately, the Infrastructure they have bought is almost always not suitable for the Application that is developed and we need to relocate their data.

As transferring their domain to another server comes with some trouble I asked myself if it even is necessary. As these Cloud Computing Services do not offer a ready set Mail Service, I could just let the domain sit at the customer's Web Hosting package, which they use as their Mail System, and configure the DNS to point Website requests to the new Server / CDN.

Is there any disadvantage (Like longer TTFB / worse Loading Speed) associated with such a construct?

Thanks! Nico

just as example, my domains are not registered by clouflare but i use the dns of them to make any changes. It mostly depends on the support of the third party to change things kike this. If you plan to cchange or transfer the domain set first a reaalllyy short ttl, wait 1 week, and theb transfer the domain to the new registry.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
