Samba passdb backend with LDAP

in flag

I'm trying to set up a Samba server (smbd version: 4.13.13-Debian) and I can't get it to work with LDAP as a backend.

Adding passdb backend = ldapsam:ldap://192.168.1.2 (where the LDAP Server is in this given IP address) makes smbd crash on restart.

The Journal message [when trying to restart smbd] is:

Dec 01 13:18:58 myserver systemd[1]: smbd.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
 Subject: Unit failed

How should I try to fix it?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
