Rspamd log entries halt every 5 mintues

sa flag

I'm not sure this problem is specific to rspamd, but I'm finding it interesting. Every five minutes, 6-7 seconds after the five minute mark, log entries halt for the service. For example, it's 19:57:21 right now, and the last entry in the log is:

2022-04-21 19:50:06

If I restart rspamd the logs continue. If I tail the logs (tail -f) after restarting the service, I can watch the logs continue for longer than the mentioned five minutes. However, if I halt tailing the log and then check back to the file, it once again has cut off 6-7 seconds after the 5 minute mark, even though I witnessed more data coming through while I was tailing the log before I halted it.

I don't know if this communicates well, so I'm going to try a second time for good measure.

  1. Restart rspamd
  2. tail -f rspamd.log
  3. ctrl+c to stop tailing, last entry I saw was "2022-04-21 20:00:12"
  4. tail rspamd.log, last entry I see is "2022-04-21 20:00:07"
  5. Cannot witness anything else added to this log until I go back to #1

No other service has trouble logging. Restarting rsyslog has no impact. Log is not being rotated during this time (daily rotation).

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
