Microsoft Remote Desktop on macOS cannot connect over IPv6 by hostname

vn flag

I have an AWS EC2 instance running Windows 10 with an IPv6 address. I can connect directly to it by specifying the full IP address (like 2001:DB8::1) but get a "Error code: 0x104" when attempting to connect to it via hostname (like rdp-host.example.com.)

I can connect via IPv4 by hostname for those hostnames that have an A record but this one only has an AAAA record. When I attempt a connection, tcpdump shows an A query going out from my desktop but shows no AAAA query.

Is this a known problem with Microsoft Remote Desktop?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
