Is there a way to install the latest stable NGinx on Ubuntu Focal (20.04) with nginx-extra modules using binaries?

ru flag

The official Ubuntu packages only go up to v1.18.0 which has some security vunlerabilities. Adding the official NGinx package repository only has the Nginx binary and no module binaries so odules like 'headers more' are not available.

Is there a way to install the latest NGinx stable release (1.22.1 at time of writing) without having to build Nginx from scratch? If not what is the easiest way to build NGinx from scratch?

There is a PPA. Another option would be to run it in a container.

But you are wrong with this statement:

which has some security vunlerabilities

Major Linux distributions port security fixes to the versions they provide. As long as the version you are using is supported (until 2025 in the case of Ubuntu 20.04) you can be sure that all security vulnerabilities are patched.

If this is your only concern you don't need to do anything more that install regular security updates.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
