Python script called from url on apache 2.2 server is only sometimes executed
ng flag

I'm a bit stumped. I have a server here, where a python (2) script is called through an url via apache 2.2.

For example http://blabla.com/script.py?manyarguments

I got some reports that often the connection has to be restarted until it works. So I checked the script and the httpd service. I added a line to the script to create a custom file as soon as it starts. So only calling the script should  ...

I migrated an Azure DevOps Server (née TFS) to a different physical machine, and while most stuff seems to work, one thing that didn't survive is user identities, because the old machine was in a different domain (in the NT sense).

Forwarding traffic between two interfaces on Linux: bridge or iptables?
cn flag

If I have two interfaces, eg. wlan0 (wireless clients on the home network) and eth0 (Ethernet interface with Internet traffic) and I'd like to forward traffic between them, I could try to:

  • create a bridge between them
  • use iptables.

This question is about what is the key difference between the two solutions.

The example that uses a bridge is this "Turn your Raspberry Pi into an AP" tutorial - step 8.  ...

try_files seemingly looking in wrong directory

I am trying to set up try_files, but am running into an issue: It seems the fallback "empty.png" file is not picked up, even though it is located at /path/to/old_cache_data/empty.png. The files that actually exist (i.e. no fallback) are found without problems. Also interesting enough I am not getting an nginx 404, but the 404 page from the app that is handled by the proxy_pass below.

QNAP QTS v5 OpenVPN to Wireguard server migration
in flag

QNAP's QTS version 5 has now Wireguard as a protocol in QVPN. There is however - as opposed to to OpenVPN - no option to download an easy-to setup config file to quickly connect a client to your NAS.

It seems that users need to create their own Wireguard config file to get this running. As I do not know the syntax of these files, what do I need to do to switch from OpenVPN to Wireguard?

I have some containers that appear to be stuck.

I have managed to get dockerd stopped.

Trying to do:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
