Spectrum Protect (a.k.a TSM) in the cloud?
cn flag

We are starting to migrate many of our services to cloud. Although there are several backup tools available in AWS, many of our sys admins still prefer TSM for backing up file shares. Has anyone tried running TSM server in AWS? If so, I would be interested to hear any feedback or recommendations you have. Also, would it be feasible to keep one server local, build one in the cloud, and replicate between  ...

Select pods by label for use by Fluent Bit in Kubernetes DaemonSet
cn flag

I have pods in Kubernetes with a label:

metadata:

I only want my Fluent Bit configuration to pick up those pods.

I followed this great tutorial on getting things set up, but I only have certain pods I want going to my destination. I don't have control over the applications (nor the pods, besides adding labels) so I figured there was a way to only have Fluent Bit ...

IIS Client Certificate Authorization working locally but not remotely

I have been attempting to set up client cert authorization on an IIS endpoint. Following the tutorial at https://joji.me/en-us/blog/how-to-create-an-iis-website-that-requires-client-certificate-using-self-signed-certificates/ I created a root cert, and then a server cert and a client cert from that root cert.

I see that on my server (Windows 2012 R2, using IIS 8.5), when I install the root cert int ...

I am rewriting the Apache 2.4 configuration that I've received from the old development team.

I have ~200 lines of similar configuration, and I can not understand on what principle I need to change this code to move it from .htaccess to virtualhost.

I need to create a user that can use ssh, but not download files through sftp. I've googled a lot, and had try a lot of configurations, but none of them work. So I think the only way to do it, it's not disabling sftp for that user, but blacklisting the download of files from the server for him. is there a way to do it? Could someone guide me through the use of symlinks in nginx for php modules?
br flag

so I'm running an ubuntu 20.04 server, with Nginx on it. After a difficult week, I managed to make it run normally, including php through php-fpm.

My problem is that I don't want hundreds of folders in my website's root (set at /var/www/www.my-domain.com/), so I'd like to put all the php related extensions I install (such as phpmyadmin, and IceCoder so far) in another folder (let's say /var/php/) ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
