Automatically set owner to new files in a NFS Folder
cn flag

I have a machine which acts as a NFS server, this machine shares files with others. Developers use the dev-user to upload files to the NFS server, but in the NFS client those files need to be owned by web-user, and devs don't have the credentials to log into the web servers everytime and do chown to those files. I want that everytime files are uploaded to the NFS client they are owned automaticall ...

How do I identify registerable/registered domains (ones with whois) and domains without whois (subdomains)
cn flag

I have an issue. I am trying to check if a given string is a valid "registered" or "registerable" domainname.

Ideally I want to see if the given string can have a valid "registrar" or not. I am already checking the string format using regex and returns true for:

  1. something.com
  2. something.com.au
  3. domains.google
  4. something.something.com

I want to be able to differentiate between "registerable" or "registered ...

I recently built a simple React app that I have deployed on the Google Cloud. Everything is now working properly. The question that I have now, is since I did a simple app, I need to update it and will continue to update it in the future. I'm wondering if I can use the same process I did when initially deploying it.

Cross-reference Ansible variables within the same mapping

How can I define an Ansible variable whose value is another variable in the same mapping structure?

To allow sensible namespacing of variables, I am defining mapping structures like this, where some values depend on other variables in the same structure:

Why does Windows prompt me to grant admin permission when I am already connected as an admin?
in flag

I have a remote session going on Windows Server 2019. I am logged in as a user who is a member of the local Administrators on the server. When I try to copy a folder I get the message: enter image description here

If I click Continue it goes ahead with the copy. There are other servers I work with where I don't see this behavior.

Why is Windows prompting me this way? Is there a server wide setting that controls this?

A server I need to communicate with only allows TLS1.3 traffic.

I have thus updated the version of OpenSSL bundled with Amazon Linux 2 to OpenSSL 1.1.1c. Following this guide

pveam shows packages for wrong architecture
hu flag

I am currently setting up proxmox on raspberry pi, which in itself works fine. However pveeam shows only amd64 images when running pveam update/pveam available (which don't work for obvious reasons). Based on the listings shown on linuxcontainers.org there are plenty of arm64/aarch64 packages out there though, so to me this seems like pveam is filtering based on (wrong) architecture somewhere.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
