I have a service running on port 3007 in Docker, it's set up like this:

services:

        ports:

I tried adding a rule to the DOCKER-USER chain to block nonlocal traffic on that port:

iptables -I DOCKER-USER -p tcp --dport 3007 ! -s 127.0.0.1 -j DROP

However, this didn't work. Looking at the rules on the DOCKER chain it seems like the forwarded ports are the the ones on th ...

How to point domain to different server without changing the nameservers
in flag

I would like to point a domain name to the server hosting my website. I generally do this by changing the domain nameservers to the server hosting the site. However, I have recently learned that my domain registrar gives free wildcard ssl certificates as long as you are using their nameservers. So, I would like to control my DNS through the domain registrar, but have the domain and sub-domains point to  ...

IP Binding Issue in using GRE Tunnel

I have a issue with tunneling and am having a hard time finding a solution. I have two servers, A: Host-Server being a sever with a single IP, and B: Main-Server being the server handling all our applications.

I set up the GRE tunnel fine, but for the application need the (A) server IP ( 192.168.0.1 ) to be on (B) servers Eth0 so the application can use the IP as its own (this is a must). However ...

How to connect local postgreSQL to docker (CVAT)

I'm trying to connect a local postgreSQL server (database name = cvat_lcl) to a container created using docker-compose: CVAT. I am able to use local pgAdmin to read the normal database hosted within the container (on port 5444), but the end-goal for my deployment is to run a local version of postgresql and have the CVAT container connect to that vs. the built in database. Linux list all network namespaces

I want to list all the network namespaces on my Linux machine. So far I found two recommended ways to do this:

ip netns list

And

lsns --type=net

Unfortunately both commands do not list all the namespaces! The first only lists the namespaces found in /var/run/netns and the second will only find namespaces with at least one process running in it. Docker for example will save its namespaces in /var/run ...

How to start etcd in docker from systemd?

I want to start etcd (single node) in docker from systemd, but something seems to go wrong - it gets terminated about 30 seconds after start.

It looks like the service starts in status "activating" but get terminated after about 30 seconds without reaching the status "active". Perhaps there are any missing signalling between docker container and systemd?

I have specifically enabled this API for the project. None the less I still get the above message.

Is there a minimum time or qty of data that must pass before it works?

Automate AWS RDS SQL server import from on-premise SQL server
cn flag

I want to create a full daily backup from an on-premise SQL server, store it on S3, and then restore it onto an existing Amazon RDS SQL Server. Something like this documentation: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/SQLServer.Procedural.Importing.html

Is there any way to automate all the steps? Mainly S3 to RDS.

Thanks. Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
