Postfix : change the domain receiver before sending email
br flag

As a company, we have a website where we can create an account, and then we can send a theme newsletter.

Sometimes, they make errors when typing their email address like @hotmil.com instead of @hotmail.com ...

I would like, if it's possible, to automatically correct the domain name, like making a file (like virtual domain) where I add : hotmil.com hotmail.com ...

Is there any trick to do this?

Are the Ubuntu mirrors in GCE (e.g. europe-west1.gce.archive.ubuntu.com) officially supported? I was not able to find a definitive answer to that, despite some googling.

Is it possible to make a reverse RDP connection on windows server?
sr flag

My Windows Server 2016 is behind a router, which i have no access to. So i can't open ports and do port-forwarding. I want to connect to my server via RDP. Sure I could use some 3rd party apps like Teamviewer, but is there a way to establish a RDP connection in reverse? Like running a powershell command on the windows server to a remote host (who is a real server with a static IP and is listening) and " ...

How to correctly configure etckeeper auto-push?
in flag

I have installed etckeeper and correctly set up a remote origin in the git repo in /etc. In /etc/etckeeper/etckeeper/conf, I have a line with PUSH_REMOTE="origin". A manual git push origin in /etc works as expected. etckeeper has a /etc/etckeeper/commit.d/99push file with +x that looks like it ought to push with my settings, but manually triggering a commit through yum install does not trigger a pus ...

How to install SSL certificate to system-wide trust on SUSE
in flag

I know this qualifies as one of the most asked questions in SF (and also possibly in SO), but (this time) I've done my homework: I've read and tried this and this without any luck.

So, I have my shiny new base-64 (cer) certificate singed by my corporate CA, now I need to add it to my server to be able to happily curl with SSL. I copy the file to /usr/share/pki/trust/anchors, make sure its 644 and own ...

Workstations on a Windows Network have strange FQDNs in DNS
my flag

I manage a site with around 50 Windows desktop PCs.

On the network is a single domain controller, file server and deployment server all running Windows Server 2022 (up to date).

Recently, I've noticed a number of PCs with strange FQDNs: DHCP list of clients with hedani.net FQDNs

There is no entry for that domain in DNS, however running nslookup on the DC returns: NSLookup of Hedani.net from the DC

Specify Samba "force user" username by numeric UID?
in flag

I want to be able to share a named volume from a Docker container over Samba. Samba is running on the host system as a native service (not in Docker). The Docker container runs as a specific UID, thus all the files in its volume are also owned by that UID.

The host system does not have an equivalent user for the UID in question.

To ensure that all files continue to be owned by the correct UID, I wan ...

Kubernetes error creating PKI assets: Certificate invalid

I have an issue with joining my worker nodes into the three masters configured. It's worth noting I know very little about the networking side of this (I'd rather it was explained like I am five, so that I can be sure I don't miss anything.)

I've been following the guide located at: https://dockerlabs.collabnix.com/kubernetes/beginners/Install-and-configure-a-multi-master-Kubernetes-cluster-with- ...

Does AWS EKS provides a DNS wildcard CNAME that will point to all Kubernetes active worker nodes?
ca flag

Usually, when i use a managed Kubernetes from various clouds, once i create a managed Kubernetes cluster, i am given a DNS wildcard CNAME such as *.536642b.nodes.k8s.fr-par.scw.cloud that will automatically contain all the active Kubernetes worker nodes.

Does AWS EKS provides such a wildcard CNAME ?

Unable to renew a Certbot NGINX certificate

I have a NGINX server and I use Certbot to generate a Let's Encrypt certificate. I saw that my certificate was not renewing automatically despite the cron I had set up. I tried to renew it manually with the command:

CNAME (pointing to the same server) asks for credentials
cl flag

Let's say I have two Windows Servers:

  • dc1
  • dc2

And I have a CNAME record:

  • MyFileServer (pointing to dc2)

If I from dc1 opens share \\MyFileServer\c$, then it works fine.

If I from dc2 opens share \\MyFileServer\c$, then it asks for credentials - and no matter what credentials I enter, it fails.

How can I fix it so I can open \\MyFileServer\c$ from dc2?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
