Investigating incoming IP connection issues on Ubuntu VPS
aq flag

I'm investigation some issues with Stripe webhooks not reaching our test server. According to their docs they submit requests from the following IPs: https://stripe.com/docs/ips#webhook-notifications

I have added these IPs to the iptables:

pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination

How to identify application that is generating ICMP echo requests on Windows 10?
ar flag

My company security team has informed me that my workstation is pinging some "blacklisted" IP addresses. The enterprise security tool reporting this information sits in place of the usual Windows firewall, but it seems it is unable to tell which process is the culprit.

I had the device rebuilt about six months ago for the same reason, and I'm pretty sure it's just an application that's using a co ...

Does anyone know how to either login, run vmadm console with an ssh key or reset the password for a fresh Ubuntu KVM-VM installation on SmartOS?

I created the KVM-VM of Ubuntu 18.04.2 from a SmartOS image with uuid 9aa48095-da9d-41ca-a094-31d1fb476b98. The VM is in state of running and when entering vmadm console it runs into a login prompt.

I tried the combinations i found online:

Like there is a way to show all logs belonging to a unit: journalctl -xu <unit>, Is there a way to clear the logs belonging to a specified unit with journalctl ?

Actually, my problem is, one of the service which is imported (from Sys-V /etc/init.d file automatically by systemd) is logging and that is seen in both syslog as well as journal!

I want to remove the logs from the journal as it eats ...

Can postfix log source ports for inbound SMTP connections?
kz flag

At the moment, postfix logs inbound connections like this:

May 4 11:15:01 hostname postfix/smtpd[161025]: connect from unknown[192.0.2.1]

This isn't enough information for hosting providers to respond to abuse reports where they use CGNAT. They need the source port to identify the offending customer.

Is there any way to make postfix log the source port? Something like this would be ideal:

VPN overlapping with network that provides access to internet
it flag

I have computer which is connected to Network A with ip range 10.0.0.0/24. This network provides access to internet and that's the only thing I need from Network A.

My comporate VPN (Network B) using using ip range 10.0.0.0/8.

I was thinking about somehow setting up nat and route tables to translate Network B to 11.0.0.0/8. Is there a chance to do that?

I have been dealing with this hassle for almost two months. I will explain the situation. I work from home and to access most of my company services I have to use an openvpn client. I created an Internal HTTP Load balance by the code below.

I can see Internal HTTP Load balance is running with internal IP(var.my_iip)

But in VPC network > IP addresses, the "in use by" of internal IP(var.my_iip) is "none"

Why not "Forwarding rule http-ife"? and how to make it right?(to prevent someone delete this IP cuz it seem no in use)

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
