nginx rewrite configuration not works
us flag

I'm using the latest version of Nginx. I deployed the Nginx pod in k8s and using configMap for my configuration file. I'm trying to rewrite the url and its look like the rewrite is not working at all. When I'm doing the rewrite manually from the browser I'm able to reach the target as expected. When I'm using the stand alone nginx server as a regular service, the configuration is working.

Thanks! ...

I have 88E6341 Marvell Ethernet switch.

I cannot access its MDIO and according to the datasheet the switch has remote management via Ethernet which I'm interested to use to diagnose connectivity issues.

What SW tools can I use on Windows or Linux to access switch registers?

Corosync allowing resources on two systems
de flag

We are using pacemaker/corosync for HA. This includes both virtual IP's and software. The other day we had a failure and corosync showed the IPAddress started on both nodes which IMHO should never happen. Every time I ever took a node out of service it first stopped the IP on nodeA before it went over to nodeB. My question is this a bug or bad configuration? I understand we may want resources running on ...

Access Denied with IAM Update

In my scenario I have created a new policy to grant access to a server in our instance but it doesn't appear to have taken effect. We granted read and list permissions with arn:aws:iam::657644469569:role/XyzServer but we are still getting 403s from i-0215c9ea7f43cfb58.I've added an inline policy to the "XyzServer" role to allow read and list permissions on that instance (i-0215c9ea7f43cfb58 (Xyz-configu ...

GCP Compute Instance stuck "stopping"
sb flag

I have a few GCP computer instances that I have tried to shut down (not delete) from the console, and they are stuck with a spinning circle and the status "stopping".

They've been like this for about 4 days now.

I've tried to stop using gcloud cli too, but that fails with an internal error.

Anyone got any advice please?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
