Running PHP application with plugin-support
cn flag

I've a PHP application that is running fine in Kubernetes, except one scenario. The "problem" is that the application can be extended using plugin. In this case, we're simply adding the plugin to the container, rebuild the container and deploy it again. Next time the Administrator logs in, he needs to confirm the installation of the plugin. So far so good. But! Our problem is that we cannot uninstall th ...

What is a good way to use a public domain name to access a server running on my laptop?

Note: My laptop's IP is not static and could be anywhere, at my apartment, in a coffee shop, tethered to my cell phone, etc...

Use Case

The use case is for debugging. Specifically for Amazon Lambda development where remote debugging does not really have support. I need external services such as Twilio and Slack

Is kernel 5.10 available for downloading for old Amazon Linux?
cn flag

It appears i have an old Amazon Linux AMI, because i have Kernel 4.x version.

I need to upgrade the kernel, i have tried with the ELRepo, but i get stuck installing the repository (an issue with glibc version, it needs 2.28 and i have 2.26)

Is there's a way to update the kernel? or i will have to switch to the new AMI? Can the AMI version get updated without losing all the data (instance AMI data)?

vcpu counts aren't changing after config change and reboot
cn flag

I recently downsized the number of vcpus virtual server Echobox1 uses from 4 to 1.

before:

# virsh vcpucount Echobox1
maximum config 4
maximum live 4
current config 4
current live 4

I restarted this server using

virsh reboot Echobox1

However the live vcpucount still shows 4:

# virsh vcpucount Echobox1
maximum config 1

Second Session is READ ONLY for NoMachine Workstation

I installed Workstation eval version on Debian 11, can access 4 different Virtual Desktops but if I try to connect a second session to the ‘same’ virtual desktop, the first one closes. The ‘Desktop not shared’ is greyed out, I don’t seem to have the ability to enable disable.

I did have ‘automigrate=0’ in server.cfg before but that alone did not help. Then I pasted the exact line

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
