AWS Route 53: Transferred domain to new account - Now getting SERVFAIL
mo flag
Nat

I recently transferred a domain buymy.coffee to a new account. When I did this, I deleted the hosted zone in the old account and recreated it in the new account. I thought I got this right, but when I do an nslookup I get the error:

** server can't find buymy.coffee: SERVFAIL

I waited 10 days just to be sure this wasn't a caching issue.

Single SSH login for multilpe machines?
it flag

I have a number of physical (desktop) machines running at the office as part of a new network to handle processing & serving Open Source data; some of these machines also house VMs.

At the moment, if an employee wants admin access to this network, I have to manually create accounts on each machine and set up the SSH key for each one (~12 in all).

Is it possible to introduce a new machine that ca ...

Migrating DHCP clients to new subnet using DHCP superscope?
br flag

I am migrating our dynamically addressed DHCP clients to a new subnet due to requirements coming from the higher ups. I am thinking of doing it like so:

1. Create new scope on DHCP server (Server 2019 DHCP) containing new subnet/scope information
2. Create new superscope containing the old subnet/scope/allocations, plus the new
3. Simply deactivate the old scope

I am hoping that this will result in DH ...

Efficient and comfortable mod_security monitoring with sentry.io or similar tools?
in flag

When using mod_security one might drown in error reports.

sentry is a comfortable tool to monitor software errors, sort them, ignore unimportant ones and so on.

I was wondering if it is possible to connect mod_security with sentry.io?

The only project I found is https://github.com/iboware/modsecurity-sentry but it does not not even have a readme :-)

Another option might be to use logstash and https:// ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
