ZFS l2arc does not warm up
cn flag

My setup has 256 GB of RAM, of which 200 GB are dedicated to arc, and 2 SSDs for l2arc. It's being up since several days and steadily serving files to many clients, yet it seems that the l2arc is still not warmed up properly. The cache report of zpool iostat -v says:

I have an issue with HAProxy where it goes to the same website even though they have different sub-domains.

For example, I go to foo.domain.com then on another tab I go to bar.domain.com and another tab for baz.domain.com, all three loads the foo.domain.com website and when I hard refresh the other sites it goes properly to the proper website then it happens again making the new website the face  ...

I have two backends that are the same server running two of the same Docker image, but each with a different port. That is, on the backend server, the only different between the two is the port mapping. My load balancer (HAProxy) is a separate physical machine at 10.0.0.2.

RDS fslogix profile locked
us flag

we are running an on-prem traditional RDS setup.

  1. We are using fslogix for profiles - users are getting profile issues where the user profiles are unable to mount. Essentially getting logged in with temp user profiles.

  2. We've discovered deleting the cloud cache of the user profile will fix when possible to delete that. Removed the following files in cloud cache: a. Profile_username.VHDX b. Rw.vhdx

Using Nginx as both a webserver and reverse proxy causing problems
cf flag

I'm trying to setup Nginx as both a webserver for wordpress and as a reverse proxy, to serve both pihole (Which is using lighttpd) and various other servers. However, after configuring, I'm having a weird problem. When I have my reverse-proxy.conf file inside of my sites sites-enabled folder, going to the ip address directly only shows the default Nginx welcome page. However, when I unlink reverse-pro ...

With MacOS and Windows as the clients and I would like to be able to have an address on my network (local or public) handle the container build steps and running the container.

So when I run something like the following, it executes on my remote machine but appears to run locally

chrony: hosting time with RTC as authoritative clock on an air-gapped (isolated) system
al flag

I have an isolated and air-gapped LAN that I want to synchronise. I have one host that will be the authoritative time server for all clients on the LAN. It's not important that the LAN time reflects real time, but it is important that all the clients agree on the time. All hosts are running Linux.

I had hoped to configure chronyd such that it would use the RTC on the nominated host as the authoritative  ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
