Inquiries about Google Cloud Platform Errors in Project Creation
be flag

I know that in order to migrate mail, I have to create a project through Google Cloud Platform. Here, it appears that the organization and ID are registered.  However, it is said that there are no organization in the process of creating the project. Look at the screen I captured. Error screen.

How do I solve this problem?

Where is initial snapshot of EC2 volume?
mw flag

When I launch EC2 (Amazon Linux) instance, attached volume shows snapshot id in details pane. That snapshot ID is not shown in Snapshots section. What is the logic/reasining behind "default" snapshot? Note: I never created a snapshot of instance. It is brand new instance and purpose was to see snapshot actions? How do I use/refer to that snapshot?

How does memory and memoryReservation work for Tasks running on EC2 ECS?
ng flag

EC2 ECS lets you specify memory and memoryReservation for both ECS tasks and the containers running within those tasks. I understand that memory and memoryReservation on the container settings map to the underlying Docker memory settings.

However, I'm not sure what it means for a task to have a memory and memoryReservation setting under EC2 ECS. Is this only used for task scheduling by ECS, or is there  ...

Windows server 2019 DNS Server

I have a Domain controller at 2 different sites with 2 different subnets. My goal is to have a primary DNS and a secondary DNS between sites. I've pointed each server to each other. The DNS address were also added to the Cisco router to be distributed to clients dynamically. The clients are receiving the address. Google VM - Command not found | SOLVED
au flag

I had my VM stopped for about a month. After restarting it today I can't run any command in the shell. I reset the instance through the reset button and also upgraded the instance but nothing seems to work.

Google doesn't seem to have an option to submit a support ticket and it redirected me here to create a question instead.

Hopefully, someone can help me with this.

Do all domains technically end with "."?
ao flag
abc

My understanding is TLDs are subdomains of the root domain which is represented by ".".

So "google.com" in more specific terms should be "google.com.".

Under what scenarios would you see a domain ending with a "." like "google.com."? I've seen it before but thought nothing of it at the time.

Can I use rsync with --files-from and -r options?

I tried using the rsync --files-from and -r options together. It worked, but for me, working like this seems strange. My rsync command is:

Fresh install CentOS 8.4 from within CentOS 8.5

Prehistory I had CentOS 8.4 4.18.0-305.3.1 installed.
Everything was good until I run yum -y update without understanding what it means.
After that CentOS get upgraded to 8.5 4.18.0-348.2.1 version, which is not suitable for my purposes.

Why do the creators of this dashboard multiply bytes by 8 to get bits? Isn't it the other way around?
cn flag

To monitor a server we have imported a dashboard for Grafana. This uses Telegraf and InfluxDB as collector and database.

When certain graphs needed to be adjusted, I noticed that in the network speed queries, the bytes received (bytes_recv) are multiplied by 8, but the units on the graph itself are displayed in bits.

How to setup SSL with a subdomain from FreeDNS?

I'm trying to get HTTPS setup for free (which might be the root cause of my issues), but am having an issue getting a SSL cert for my subdomain.

I used FreeDNS to create a subdomain that points to my server. For those unfamiliar with FreeDNS, it's important to note that the subdomain I created is built on top of someone's public domain that has been shared.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
