Oracle Cloud to Power BI service using Azure VPN connection
bz flag

Hello and hopefully someone has experience with PowerBI cloud datasets

I am looking for a way to use Oracle Cloud (cloud, not on-prem) as Power BI dataset (web version, not desktop).

It is able to use Oracle Cloud database from Power BI Desktop but this is not what I'm looking for as it takes time and this connector takes a lot of time to refresh, so it would be great if Power BI could do this all p ...

Can I trace a RabbitMQ consumer to a remote host?
us flag

I often find myself troubleshooting situations where, due to user error (forgetting to shut down some processes), some extra consumers are listening on a known RabbitMQ queue. When I do rabbitmqctl list_consumers | grep <queue-name> I can see that there are too many consumers (usually twice as many as their should be), but the users involved often don't know where those are running. Is there a  ...

How can I use the IP Address and Domain Restrictions module for only one website on an IIS 10 server with multiple websites?
ru flag

does anyone know if there is a way to use the IP Address and Domain Restrictions module on only one website in IIS 10?

My IIS server has 12 different websites, but I only need to restrict one to domain traffic only.

I don't see anywhere in the module that allows me to target a website.

It seems like any rules would apply to all the websites being hosted on the server.

Thanks!

Multiple instances of systemd unit not writing to log files
jp flag

I'm trying to create a systemd unit file that will take an argument for a php script.

The small php script:

<?php
$val = $argv[1];

while(true) {
        echo "Argument = $val\n";
        sleep(1);
}
?>

Devs are working on the real script. All I need to do to test is take an argument, which is passed in the systemd unit file. Here it is:

Restrict GPOs to RD Session Host without loopback processing
gi flag

My aim would be to divide our huge "User" OU (not the default one!) into different sub-OUs from the respective department. Then, I want to link the GPOs to the different departments, but somehow "restrict" the application of them to the RD Session Host. I wanted to know if there is a way to accomplish that without having about 15 GPOs only linked to the "RD Session Host" OU and none to the department OU ...

Does anyone know if running docker and rootless docker at the same time can cause any issues?

The documentation says:

If the system-wide Docker daemon is already running, consider disabling it

But they don't say why should we consider disabling it.

Linux guest on Hyper-V host, realtime clock, UTC or local - sync with AD DC

I'm installing a Debian 11 Linux guest on a Hyper-V cluster. Hosts' realtime clocks are set to local time, as is the norm for Windows Servers; unlike the preference of Unix-like OSes. Should I execute timedatectl set-local-rtc 1 on the Linux guest, to be in line with its hosts?

Setting real time clock to local time on Linux systemd servers reports this:

VPN through Tor. Are there any errors in my settings and can anonymity be improved?

I need to route traffic from multiple mobile apps and all sites through tor.

Some apps and websites block tor traffic. For this reason, I decided to use tor and vpn together (vpn through tor). I know this may carry additional problems for anonymity, but I think it's reasonable compromise.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
