ipv6 distribute an ula prefix without an router
bz flag

I have a network which has no ipv6 connectivity to the internet. But I'd like to play a little with private networking.

So I want to use ULAs for my devices and automatically distribute the prefix.

I know that ipv6 uses router advertisement to do so. But (hence the name...) it advertises a router, too. In my case using dnsmasq it's the address of the server running it. So it ends up in my clients as ...

HTTP error 405 after moving from server to localhost
cn flag

I moved my login system code from a server (separate laptop on same network) to my main computer to use on a localhost database via XAMPP (apache and mysql server). When entering the credentials and submitting I get a 405 error: method not allowed. I did not get this when working on the server. XAMPP apache log doesn't offer me anything. I have tried using MAMP instead.

Apache proxy removes double slash
lr flag

I'm trying to send requests to a docker image by using apache's proxy functionality. The request to the docker should look something like: https://127.0.0.1:8282/somepath/https://somedomain/someimage.jpg but it is being forwarded like https://127.0.0.1:8282/somepath/https:/somedomain/someimage.jpg (so missing one slash).

I think this is probably some default to prevent issues with directories acciden ...

My team and I got the project to test a new monitoring solution that allow us to :

  • Perform classical monitoring checks (through SNMP, ping, sensor status, vendor librairies etc...)
  • Perform checks in chain or healthchecks, like a scenario, for instance => check a switch interface + check server status + check database query + check app status => red/orange/green alert.

Configuring ufw to access the site via openvpn
us flag

I'm setting up ufw on debian. I have openvpn and pi hole there. I'm trying to make it so that the pi hole panel can only be accessed through a vpn, but I can't. Prescribed the command: ufw deny from 10.8.0.3 to any port 80. It didn't help. Just lost access to the panel. How do I set it up so that everything works fine? This method is described on the Internet. Something doesn't work for me.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
