Ubuntu 18.04 with gstreamer dev version 1.19

mu flag

The default version of gstreamer is 1.14 , what i need to do is to use the gstreamer 1.19.

What i have tried :

  1. apt purge gstreamer issue : this will remove gdm3 the default display manager

  2. Cloned the gstreamer repo and builded it. Tested the gstreamer 1.19

  3. Installed back gdm3 apt install gdm3

After restart the ui doesn't start , it's a flashing screen. Not able to get to tty also. Let me know if i did anything wrong. Looking forward to help. Thanks

Even development versions of Ubuntu and Debian have [gstreamer1.0](https://packages.ubuntu.com/source/impish/gstreamer1.0) [1.18.4](https://packages.debian.org/search?suite=all&arch=any&searchon=sourcenames&keywords=gstreamer1.0). Why do you think you need 1.19?

to be specific i need to test and use some specific functionality from gstreamer - bad plugins. which is not there in the available packages. Even in 1.18.4 the binary i couldn't find the binary packages. @N0rbert

They are in place - see https://packages.ubuntu.com/source/focal/gst-plugins-bad1.0 and binary packages below.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
