Dummy output (Audio card) on Ubuntu 18.04

ar flag

I had before 2 records on sound--ouput 1- s/pdif digital 2 and one more for the headset but the internal speakers were not working on Ubuntu, I have another disk (windows 10) and I can hear the sound

I tried to install a realtek driver then the sound turned to be dummy

  • Ran the following commands with results

alsamixer: cannot open mixer: No such file or directory

pactl load-module module-detect: Failure: Module initialization failed

which alsamixer: /usr/bin/alsamixer

sudo alsa force-reload:

  • Unloading ALSA sound driver modules: (none loaded).
  • Loading ALSA sound driver modules: (none to reload).

Then tried to uninstall and reinstall

  • killall pulseaudio
  • pulseaudio -k
  • sudo apt autoremove
  • sudo apt-get remove --purge alsa-base pulseaudio
  • sudo apt-get install alsa-base pulseaudio

But still getting the same results: dummy output

Any ideas ?

Can you add `lspci -nnk | grep -i audio -A2` and `ps aux | grep pulse` please.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
