Get back to the old kernel. Simple. We cannot say anything unless we know which all kernels you installed. Do you really need the new kernel for any particular reason, like hardware incompatibility?

This is the problem with installing new kernel, using apt, not running them.

When one has a lot of kernels installed, then yes it can take a long time to update if the update includes a per installed kernel update to I think it is initramfs (or similar). I have never figured out a solution to this other than reducing the number of installed kernels.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
