Ubuntu 21 freezes after boot using nvidia prime syncronization in a hybrid GPU

br flag

I have a hybrid GPU (Intel and GeForce Gtx) - Acer Nitro 5

After install Ubuntu 21 (kernel 5.11.0-22) and Nvidia driver 465.27 I tried to fix the sync / tearing issue that happens when using PRIME performance mode:

I created a .conf file for nvidia_drm module in /usr/lib/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf:

options nvidia_drm modeset=1

and also:

sudo update-initramfs -u

But after booting screen, when the os starts the X, Ubuntu freezes and only shows the background color and mouse pointer.

I've tried to find something in system logs, but I could not find anything about this error.

Infos:

Before I try Ubuntu 21, I had Ubuntu 20 installed and it worked well (with prime modeset actived)

I also have installed nvidia driver 460 and I've had the same issue.

My next step it is to rollback to Ubuntu 20, but before, I'm trying here :/

Thanks!!

Please correct or clarify you releases. Ubuntu has products that use *deb* packages and have releases using the *year.month* format, but a different series of products that use *snap* packages only and are recognized by the *year* format (eg. Ubuntu Core 20). You've tagged a *deb* based 21.04 system, but mention *snap* only *headless* products in your question where nvidia makes little sense. Products using using the *year* format have existed since 2016.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
