Installed i3 but monitor shows no signal

cn flag

I've looked everywhere for an answer to this problem, but I can't seem to find anyone who has had a similar issue.

I would like to install a tiling window manager on my machine. I am running Ubuntu 20.04, and I chose to install i3. Everything seems fine, it installed, and I restarted the computer. I can now see the option to select i3 when I login. However, when I do, my monitor shows no signal.

I have tried other window managers, and not one seems to have worked. Is there some settings in Ubuntu that I need to change in order to do this?

Edit: So I was able to change the cable to my monitor from HDMI to VGA. The VGA cable worked, but doesn't show a HD resolution. It looks like this is either a problem with my monitor, or I need to change some settings to get i3 to work via HDMI. Any suggestsions?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
