Slow file transfer to Windows Server 2019 share

id flag

i hope you guy can help me figure out what the problem is.

I am running Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS and trying to copy/moving a single file of 50GB+ to a Windows Server 2019 share over 1gb network, mounted via cifs. When i start the transfer it was around 190MB/s, and after a while is slowing down to 30MB/s. The systems are not busy, only the file transfer is running. How its possible the speed drops so many? Is there something i can do to improve the transfer speed?

Can you test this file operation between 2 Ubuntu computers via this network? Possibly this will help to locate the problem.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
