Why am I receiving error messages?

it flag

I'm new to the Linux community and I'm trying to dual boot Ubuntu onto my primary laptop. I downloaded Rufus to help create a bootable image and I have all settings set to their primary defaults, but I keep receiving an error message. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but if anyone could help, that'd be great.

An image will be provided. Many thanks!

That unnecessarily enormous image suggests that you made a mistake in your selection of where to write the .iso file to.

I meant to include that in comparison to guides on how to install through Rufus, I have a scroll bar named 'Persistent Partition Size' that allows me to allot space anywhere from 0GB to 64GB. However, whenever I attempt to write the image, it automatically assigns 12GB. Any tutorial that I've seen does not have this bar.

Please edit your Question above to go ahead and include it.

This is more a recommendation than an actual answer to your question, but have you tried using UNetbootin instead of Rufus to create your LiveUSB?

You don't need persistence of you just need installation media. Rufus is a great feature-rich tool, but all of those options might have you confused. I suggest flashing the ISO to the USB with [balenaEtcher](https://www.balena.io/etcher/). It's a simple straightforward tool for flashing USB and memory cards.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
