ph flag

I've been here looking through other threads trying to figure this out but, can't figure out how to change my mdadm array ownership. I've tried a bunch of commands and I just can't get it. I am very new to ubuntu. my array says its mounted at /mnt/raid0 and the device is /dev/md0. my user is storageserver5.

What version of Ubuntu are you using? Also, why are you trying to change the ownership? Are you having issues accessing your array? Please [edit](https://askubuntu.com/posts/1352356/edit) your question and add more details. Thank you!

My Ubuntu version is 20.04.2.0. I am trying to change the ownership because it is owned by root and I can't access it with my user account through the gui which I need to because I want to use it as a network drive atleast that's how I understand it so far...

If your goal is to use this array in what is to be a file server I wouldn’t worry about permissions at this point. You need a service to share the storage on the network. You need to research Samba and NFS and decide which may meet your needs best. Set one of those up correctly and it should just work fine.

It's not just about having it as a network drive I also want to be able to create new folders and or delete folders on that array from my user account. I just need to know how to do so

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
