Having issues with my display

kr flag

I just installed Ubuntu Budgie 20.10 and my display has been seperated into 6 different displays that area all duplicates of each other (https://i.stack.imgur.com/wUexr.jpg) This is on a Samsung DP500A2D 21.5" Series 7 Touchscreen All-in-One PC. I've changed nothing since the install, and the resolution is 1280x720 (according to the settings) and I don't see any way to change it, and I never used "Try Ubuntu" but I have it set up to be able to dual boot.

Have you confirmed the display settings are set to the native resolution and refresh rate? When you "Try Ubuntu" from installation media, so you have the same problem? Has this problem always existed on this Ubuntu installation, or did it work initially and then get messed up later? Perhaps after you performed some tasks. If so you should tell us everything you've done since the install.

Hopefully that information is a bit more useful now

The system uses Intel HD Graphics 2000 (SNB GT1) and the native resolution is 1920x1090 and the refresh is 60Hz

I found another user with the same issue, so I did what was suggested for them, and I just booted from Ubuntu recovery mode and it's fixed my issue, but when I boot straight to Ubuntu the problem still persists. Booting from the installation media and "Try Ubuntu" still has the same problem. In settings > screen settings, the resolution says it is 1280x720, but I have no option to change it. I've managed to calibrate the touchscreen but that hasn't helped the issue at all, and I unfortunately can't find anything about drivers for my devicec

That's a good start. Can you give the complete details of the steps you took to solve the problem temporarily? Perhaps they can be made permanent. You can use the edit link on the question if there are a lot of steps or details. Also link to the resource you followed.

I've lost the resource I followed because I was browsing in private out of bad habit, but said resource described the same problem I have, and someone else on that site suggested booting into recovery mode through grub, Advanced options for Ubuntu > Ubuntu, with Linux 2.8.0-63-generic (recovery mode) and then just resume the boot from the recovery mode menu, but there were no further suggestions or comments from them or anyone else. And this solution does work every time, but I still have to go through that process every time I boot the pc up.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
