How can I find the MAC address of a host I've connected to in the past?

be flag

I need to find the MAC address of a machine that is now offline but cannot be turned on again. (I am trying to wake it up using Wake-on-LAN, but I need its MAC address to do that.) I've connected to the machine numerous times in the past using SSH and x2go.

I am no longer directly connected to the network, though I do have access to a machine that is. The ARP caches on both my machine and the other one I have access to are cleared now.

Are there any Ubuntu logs that could reveal what the MAC address was?

Check your router's logs and leases, too.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
