How can I copy files from .ssh directory using "try ubuntu from usb"?

in flag

My disk is breaking up and won't boot. I managed to get it mounted while using Ubuntu from a usb. I want to copy my private keys from .ssh and do a clean install. But, when I try to cd to .ssh in my home directory I get "Permission denied". Is there a way to access the .ssh directory? My home directory is not encrypted.

You can use `sudo -s` (or `sudo -i`) to obtain a root shell - see for example [How to enter a directory with the 'cd' command if it has 700 permission and is not owned by me?](https://askubuntu.com/questions/57789/how-to-enter-a-directory-with-the-cd-command-if-it-has-700-permission-and-is-n)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
