Add/remove custom OpenVPN routes?

eg flag

I have imported several .ovpn files via Network Manager. Each file accesses my VPN provider via a different location.

Not surprisingly there are some web sites that do not like the VPN and so I want to bypass the VPN for just those sites. I would like to do so without having to edit each of the ovpn files or configurations via the Network Manager UI.

I have found I can add my 'override' routes to /etc/network/if-up.d/openvpn which is apparently called at some point as a result of having toggled one of the connections on via the Network Manager UI.

However, I'm having troubles removing the routes once I close the VPN connection using the Network Manager UI. It does not appear to be triggering /etc/network/if-down.d/openvpn as one would expect.

Is there a better way to accomplish this? Ideally I'd only have to edit one file when adding additional bypass routes...

Thank you.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
