Use of fingerprint reader with Dell Inspiron notebook

br flag

I just installed latest ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS on my dell inspiron as dual boot with windows 10. When I got the inspiron, I was asked at startup to configure the built-in fingerprint reader and use it for windows login. After installing Ubuntu I was asked nothing. But I have a keyring popup where I have to give my password each time I start ubuntu. I don't even know why and what for keyring aks an what ever keyring is. How can I get rid of it, how can I use the fingerprint reader? Regards, Clemens

While fingerprint login *isn't* setup users are supposed to type the password (just like Windows). In order to check whether or not your specific hardware is supported already please check with `lspci` or `lsusb` (most likely), one of them will identify your fingerprint reader device. Then edit this question and post that line.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
