I am getting about 30mbps download when connecting to the PureVPN servers and around 140mbps upload. I am having to use PPTP because I must have a static public IP with 3 specific ports forwarded that I determine.
This speed is acceptable to operate my node, but I am wondering if there is something within my distro of Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS hat is making my connection slower on down than up? I worked for a couple of hours with the live chat support with PureVPN, but we got nowhere on this.Image link to version of Ubuntu attached so please don't close my question before I have opportunity to respondt
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? (please don't suggest other methods of VPN or other connection methods, I am stuck with having to connect with PPTP due to limits by VPN provider on static IP unless you know another good low-cost VPN service that can provide static IP and me configure my static ports to forward. Can't use random ports)
. And I cannot test it on another PC because this is my only Linux box I have where I have to manually set up my PPTP connection to this PureVPN per their settings. I get great download and upload via OPENVPN through them, but I cannot use that protocol due to the fact they only offer PPTP with Static.
